Feng Shui is pronounced as ‘Fung Shway’ in Chinese. Literally, the word Feng translates to wind and Shui translates to water.
According to Wikipedia's definition:
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice believed to utilize the Laws of both Heaven, (astronomy), and Earth, (geography), to help one improve life by receiving positive Qi.
Now - what does this mean, and how does it affect us? Most of today's feng shui schools teach that it is the practice of arranging objects, (such as the internal placement of furniture in an environment,) to achieve harmony with one's environment.
In other words, Feng Shui is a way of understanding and focusing attention on the energy that permeates the spaces in which we live and work.
Feng Shui shows you how to locate and embrace the areas that influence your career, knowledge, family, prosperity, fame, relationship, creativity, travel and helpful people. It shows you how to transform those areas into places of peace and harmony through the placement of furniture, mirrors, plants, crystals, wind chimes, and colors.
